Life is not too small !!!!!!!!!!!!

I keep hearing these phases over and over again - the world is too small; the world is a global village; the world is one big connected family. But if you ask me, I would say the world is too big and it is growing even bigger!

Take for instance the simple task of buying a dress.  There are a hundred different shops offering the same kind of dress. What about a simple cup of coffee? You can find a coffee shop at almost every corner. Same goes for restaurants, and malls, and pubs etc.

Gone are the days when you had to use the telephone to reach your loved ones. Now you have the  Internet, mobile, skype, VoIP and what not.  Travelling can be organized within a matter of minutes, even if it is a trip abroad. Technology has presented us with so many great advancements, that a heartfelt gesture of sending a gift to your parents, even if they are located on a different continent, can be done online. You can even time the delivery.
The internet has even bought the process of searching for a  life partner to the doorstep.

But,my biggest question is,” Do we have time for ourselves?”

What is the fun in buying a new dress when if there is no one to compliment you. What is the fun is going to a coffee shop if you don’t have anyone to share it with or what is the fun in having a mobile or a land line when you don’t have anyone to talk to??? We are so busy these days, we wouldn't mind searching for hours for a friend whom we had last seen 20 years ago.  We are curious to know what he is doing but how many of us know or care to find out who our next door neighbor is?

When was the last time you shared magical moments with that special someone, marveling at the beauty of the setting sun or just whispering sweet nothings to each other?
This is the age of the super busy human. We have time for almost everything apart from ourselves. It’s pointless to slog in a 9 to 6 job when you don’t enjoy what you do. We wouldn't mind going that extra mile to splurge on favorite dress or a car but we do think a hundred times when we have to open our purses when we see a beggar on the road.  I know for a fact that most of us are just waiting for that signal to go green.

When was the last time you ate something and said, “This is exactly how my mother used to cook it.” Hardly ever I would think because we all know these days it is more about money at a fancy restaurant than about a simple meal.

Making a phone call was as simple as eating a chocolate. But, these days people take classes to operate a mobile phone.

Are we really making this world a better place to live in or are we making it more and more complex. We work through the week from Monday to Friday at a crazy pace. No time to spend with our partners and kids. We console ourselves saying it is all for the family. Is it really?

What is the point of earning a bucket load of money if it requires you to stay away from the very purpose of living?

Everything has a question mark these days. The point really is this; are you going to look for answers while you still have the time? Because if you don’t, then you will hardly be left with any memories to share with your children when you get old.

It doesn't really matter if your work is on hold for a while or if your mobile is kept away from you. Take out some time for yourself. Cherish and enjoy every minute with the people you love because life is too short for second chances and too long to live alone.

  2. Again an amazing blog! Loved reading it. I hope there is some implementation or change in the lives of people who read this. At least we all should give some time to think about our lives and find out what they have missed. it can not be recovered, but can at least be improved going further. :)
